The nine provinces (white boxes) are: Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Northern Cape, North-West, and Western Cape. Dassen Island (not shown) is on the west coast, north of Cape Town and Robben Island.
